About Us

Grimsby’ first floatation therapy centre was born in March 2023. Grimsby-on-the-lake was the

perfect locations with the Ontario Lake as our backyard. I have always been dragging to the

water and it just felt so right to pick this awesome community to open Mellow Float.

I first heard about floatation therapy in 2017 when I walked-in to Float Toronto on Queen St.

West. They gave me a tour of the facility and I was intrigued to try it and I also had some fear.

18 months later, I was going through some difficult times and at that point, I decided to give

floating a try. It was amazing and it became something I would do on a bi-monthly basis. It was great to have a place to go alone where I could just be myself. It helped me to see clarity and got me through the difficult time. I continued to float and I keep noticing other benefits; the sensory deprivation experience was something my brain needed. I would be more focus and happy days after floating, which helped me with my demanding finance career and with my personal relationships.

I always had the goal to start a business, I just couldn’t find anything I was passionate enough. I put my goal on the backburner while climbing the finance corporate ladder. One day, I was having a coffee with a colleague and he had absolutely no clue about my entrepreneurial goal.

He randomly asked me if I could start a business, what it would be. It lighted up the fire in me

and I proceed to tell him I could see myself operating a float tank centre and how it has been

beneficial for bot my physical and mental health for the past few months.

From there, I became obsessed with the idea of opening my own float tank centre and I knew

it’s something I had a passion for. I started writing my business plan and to try as many float

tank centre as possible.

Fast forward to March 2023 and we open our doors. We decided to do offer both Infrared

Saunas and Float Therapy. Both services completement each other and offer diverse benefits

for the mind and the.

remind us daily why we do what we do.
